Vision & Mission

Our Mission

The Jean Louise Finch Foundation is dedicated to environmental education, inspiring behaviour change, cultivating and protecting nature, and getting youth (+people of all ages) learning and volunteering. Our priorities are protecting the Earth (our home), as well as ourselves (our health) by helping people reconnect with and care for all living things on this planet.

Through educational resources, events, workshops, fundraisers and green initiatives, our goal is to help people reconnect with nature and help fund charities working to restore nature.

Our Vision

1. Offer educational information about the environment and health; offer resources for changing behaviour

2. Inspire people to take action

3. Involve people of all ages (especially youth) in volunteering

4. Cultivate and protect nature through activities like planting trees

5. Fundraise money for environmental causes and nature restoration

6. Pursue joint social action/environmental initiatives (e.g. helping farmers, hunger/food waste)

7. Help people reconnect with nature

8. Help people be healthier and make healthier choices

9. Help people find more fulfillment and feel more connected spiritually

Information & Resources

There's a ton of information out there about environmental and health harm - but there often isn't information about what you can DO about it and how you can improve your situation. We offer resources to learn about both the problem and the solution.

Inspire action/behaviour change

We hope to inspire people to take small steps to change their behaviour and take action to help protect the environment and human health!

Involve youth & all ages

Our Youth Program (involving fundraisers, camps and an environmental club) aims to involve youth in making a difference. We also want to invite people of all ages in our mission to protect nature!

Cultivate & protect nature

We hope to plant 500 trees ourselves and create pollinator gardens, as well as donating to charities that protect and cultivate nature.

Pursue social/environmental causes

We aim to create initiatives and/or donate to charities pursuing social and environmental causes. From food recycling and preventing hunger to helping farmers and animals, supporting projects with a social impact is important to us.

Reconnect people with nature

Reconnecting with nature is good for everyone's physical and mental health. Helping make the Earth a greener, cleaner and more lovely place to live is something we all benefit from doing.

Help people make healthier choices

The health of the planet and our personal health are inextricably connected. An important part of our mission is helping people make healthier choices, so you feel better and protect yourself from disease-causing chemicals and toxins in the long term.

Help people find more fulfillment

Rather than gaining esteem, validation, self-worth and happiness from material objects, we hope to help people find fulfillment and happiness from an authentic, sustainable source - yourself + helping to make the world a better place! We provide resources with an alternative perspective, which may challenge your thinking or open your mind to something new.
